About me

I started in the turf industry in 2001. I loved being on the golf course. I liked being outside early in the morning, I even liked the lingering smells from Primo and iron applications. I liked that manicured look just before the first tee time. I liked how the long afternoon shadows made the course look. I even used to make time for free golf rounds at the end of shift.

But then I moved into management roles and had to adapt. I found joy in making it all come together and function. My goal was to balance the needs and wants of the golfers with the needs and wants of the golf course. As time went on and as more challenges arose I realized, new skills and ambitions were needed to sustain. In a perfect world everything would work out stress free and on budget, but things are not perfect. Turf professionals must learn to manage everything and not become burned out. I learned you don’t have to sacrifice your personal life and health to excel in the demanding turf industry.
